Woot.
There have been all sorts of SaGa games over the past few years, with the most recent, a remake of SaGa 3, set to appear on DS early next year. But the Romancing SaGa sub-series hasn't seen an original new entry since Super Famicom's Romancing SaGa 3 in 1995 (PS2's Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song was a remake of the original Romancing SaGa).
For those who've given up on a Romancing SaGa 4, there's a glimmer of hope today. It looks like at some point between now and the time series director Akitoshi Kawazu dies, we will get a part 4. Kawazu seemed to promise as much in a year-end commentary piece with 4gamer where he said, "There are many fans who want a Romancing SaGa 4, so I believe that it is my duty to make it before I die."
Kawazu is currently 48 years old.
Also in the 4gamer story, Kawazu listed Halo: Reach and Fallout New Vegas as two game that impressed him in 2010. He also said that because there is much demand for a new title from him, he hopes to realize this desire in 2011.
